During a holistic herbal consultation the clients lifestyle, diet, emotional well-being, and medical history is discussed. From a clinical and holistic perspective we are able to create a personalized natural, plant-based herbal plan aimed at restoring and supporting balance on multiple levels.
Together these practices offer a truly unique Holistic experience of mind body wellness.
We can help you with a variety of health conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety, digestive disorders, and more.
The first consultation with a client typically lasts between 90 minutes to two hours. During this session, I take a thorough intake of the client’s medical history, lifestyle, diet, emotional health, and any concerns they may have regarding their current health or wellness. I begin by conducting a detailed Ayurvedic assessment, which includes examining their dosha, digestive capacity (Agni), and overall balance. I also assess the client’s physical symptoms and emotional states using both Ayurvedic principles and Earth Medicine diagnostics.
In Ayurveda, understanding the dosha is essential to crafting individualized treatment protocols. I utilize pulse diagnosis, tongue examination, and observation of physical characteristics to determine the predominant dosha or doshas in the client’s constitution. Additionally, I assess their current imbalances (Vikriti) by looking at any symptoms or health concerns they are experiencing. Earth Medicine approaches, including working with seasonal changes, lunar cycles, and the energetics of specific herbs, are integrated into my practice to provide a comprehensive understanding of the client’s current state.
After gathering this information, I spend time explaining the Ayurvedic principles that apply to the client’s condition and offer them a clear understanding of how their body and mind are functioning at the time of the consultation. This part of the process is essential for empowering clients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health. I aim to create an open dialogue, where clients feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their experiences.
Follow-Up Visits and Time Spent with Clients
After the initial consultation, follow-up visits are typically scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks, though I make adjustments based on the client’s needs and the severity of their condition. Over the past four years, I’ve found that seasonal check-ins are especially helpful, as Ayurvedic practices emphasize the importance of aligning one’s lifestyle with the changing seasons. Clients often return for follow-up sessions to reassess their progress and adjust their treatment plans based on any shifts in their health or wellness goals.
Follow-up visits generally last 60 to 75 minutes. During these sessions, I review the client’s progress with their prescribed protocols, including any dietary changes, herbal remedies, lifestyle adjustments, or mindfulness practices. I also assess their emotional health and how well they have integrated Ayurvedic and Earth Medicine practices into their daily life. If needed, I adjust the protocols, introduce new herbs or supplements, and make recommendations based on the evolving season or any new health concerns.
While I typically recommend at least one follow-up visit per season, some clients may choose to meet more often if they are dealing with acute health issues or need additional support. In these cases, I work closely with the client to ensure they are progressing in the right direction and feeling empowered by their treatment.
